Here’s the newest mix for “Paradise Lost”. Still a work in progress, but I feel…still…that’s definitely heading in the right direction.
And tell me what you think!
tell me what you think.
Good or bad…I’ll take it.
So here’s the updated version to “Paradise Lost”.
It’s the entire first movement, with the beginning the second.
Nothing special yet…but I think it’s going somewhere. And that somewhere is going to be awesome.
So again…let me know what you folks think. Criticism is…yadda yadda yadda.
Just help me out eh?
Thomas Bergersen - Promise (Final Version) (by TwoStepsFromTheMusic)
So, thanks to Mr. Marino and Infinity, I’ve found this brilliant composer and all of his amazing work.
Seriously…I could listen to this guy all day. So. Good.
So here’s a little something I’ve been working on called “Paradise Lost.”
The show will be about the things that you hold dear - whether it be a relationship, a possession, what have you - and the process of losing your grip on it.
So that feeling of having that ONE thing that makes you happy slip through your fingers is what I WANT to be able to explore.
And I wanted to take the same route as the poem by Milton, starting kind of in the middle of the battle, and flashing back to times before things went wrong and then ending on a hopeful note of: “even though you’ve lost what you held dear, there is always a silver lining.”
Maybe end with this quote:
then wilt though not be loth
To leave this Paradise, but shalt possess
A paradise within thee, happier far.
I guess I’ll see where it goes. But in the meantime, let me know what you guys think.
Seriously though…give me some criticism.
And as always…ENJOY!
In honor of championship week…
here is the best show WGI has ever seen.
Rhythm X 2009 - Touch
I think this is my favorite part of this entire show.
So soothing. Beautiful.
God…it must be great to like sit down while writing the show and just KNOW that ANYTHING you write for that quad section will work.
And it’ll be clean, and you won’t have to water it down.
RCC ‘09/Tenor appreciation post.
Favorite part of the entire show is at 6:12.
And how great does that feeling have to be? To know how good you are, and that after you just laid down the best quad feature of the year, and the entire crowd goes nuts EXCLUSIVELY for you?
These guys were insane.
So here is a rough copy of the music we’re playing for our first year as an ensemble.
We’re a small ensemble, and aren’t competing this year, but hopefully through fundraising and word of mouth, we can grow next year and be able to 1) afford to compete, 2) have enough people TO put a full ensemble on the floor and 3) afford new equipment.
We’re pushing the kids this year strictly because we’re not competing. We wanted to throw tough stuff at them this year to get them playing more difficult stuff, so next year, when we write to visual as well, they’ll be ready for anything.
Anyways…hope you enjoy it. It’s not much, but it’s something, and it’s something we’re proud of and excited about.
I know it’s early…but holy shit.
This is going to be a great year for the activity. We say that every year…but holy shit. I’ve seen some Pulse and now this?!
West Coast monsters.
This show seems poignant today. So I’m re-posting it.
“Generation Next” - Pulse Percussion 2011
This is a message that all of us on tumblr can get behind.
We’re going to make an impact someday…and it’ll take the whole world by surprise.
“Probably one of the best video I’ve ever seen on this activity.” - comment on YouTube.
I think that sums it perfectly.
Alright…enough from those shit eating politicians.
Here is MCM being a bunch of badasses.
The country needs more of this and less of cockbags in suits.
Also…Drew Guy 2016!
Just realized that my old post from my Phillip Glass indoor show has been compromised. Mainly because upload-mp3 shut down.
So…here’s the updated opener for those who haven’t heard it yet.
Give me your thoughts…and suggestions.
The Glass piece is “Glassworks”. Pretty sweet stuff.
Haven’t posted…well…any music in a while.
Here is the new indoor show I’m working on.
It’s a Phillip Glass show called “From Creation to Chaos”.
It’s only the first 48 seconds, so it’s nowhere even close to being done.
But I feel like it’s a strong start of what will hopefully be an awesome show.
Enjoy and let me know what you think.
